Italian hand gestures explained (video)

When it comes to speaking with their hands, the Italians are masters. Many gestures are just meant to emphasize normal conversations. Some others belong to the category of Parolacce (bad words). This video summarizes some of the most popular hand gestures that you may happen to witness in your next trip to Italy.
Beware, you may end up learning more than what you wished.

Ciao

Hi there - I'm Portuguese, and we use a lot of these same gestures! (Of course the Italians are better at it though...)

Great video, very expressively done. Favorited!

Pretty funny! The bad part is I already knew most of these gestures. The good part is that I've only actually had to use the tame ones ;-)

Really enjoying your blog.

love it. hha. i went to italy with my aunt and her little kids last year, my lil 4yrold cousin ended up going around saying stuff like 'vafunculo' and 'pipale' for months afterwards at her kindergarden no matter how many times we told her its naughty. hahaha. other kids around her would repeat it too. hahaha.
